Larry and Peggy Trexler manage the Skalkaho Creek Ranch which raise and train APHA horses and Registered Black Angus cattle. Peggy starteed riding at a young age and has rode and competed in American West Barrel Association, National Barrel Racing Association, Northern Rodeo Association and Pro. Rodeos. She has too many earnings and points to list here.
Larry is a long time rancher and he does as much work on the back of a horse. Everything from checking cows, riding the fence line, doctoring cattle, to roping in the arena.
Since managing the Skalkaho Creek Ranch, Larry and Peggy have concentrated on getting the best APHA blood lines to make the best type of horse for the arena or the ranch. Larry does the roping, while Peggy does the barrel racing and showing and both spend many hours in the saddle riding the mountains and hills around the ranch.
In 2004 Skalkaho Creek Ranch received Reserve Champion 2-year-old Montana Paint race gelding and was in the top 10 APHA "PAC" Barrel racing.
In the past, they have sold horses that have gone on to excel in the cutting, barrel racing, and reining arena.
