Zans Little Matlock
1997 AQHA Sorrel Gelding
Super Ranch Horse!
Most people pass by a sorrel horse just because they don't have some flashy color. Well let me tell you a secret, the horses with no fancy color are usually better broke because the trainers have to work twice as hard to make them marketable, and "Matlock" is no exception.
This gelding is not only put together correctly, but he is bred well and has countless hours learning how to do a job well. Matlock has been used on a ranch dragging calves to a fire, doctoring, sorting, gathering, cuttiing, you name it, he's done it. So if you are looking for a horse for roping, either heading or heeling, team sorting, working cow horse, or perhaps and team penning horse, he would be a dandy. Going out on a nice leisurely ride isn't foreign to him either. He has a "let's go somewhere" walk which means if you have a job to do it won't take you all day to get there.
Now most of you don't need a horse with all of this experience, but this kind of miles this horse has makes him able to handle new stimuli in suburban areas. Matlock is intellegent and has no bad habits. He loves to please people and is a pleasure to be around. When you ride him, people will take notice, not because of outward color, but because of his presence.
